Some ice cream is made by the thousands of gallons. Ours is made 2.5 gallons at a time.
Graeter's has been family-owned and operated for 155 years, and in that time we have never changed the way we make our ice cream. Every pint is produced using the French Pot® process, the same small-batch method our founder used in 1870. The result is a denser, creamier texture with significantly less air than what you find in mass-market alternatives. You notice it the moment you pick up the pint.
In our chocolate chip flavors, melted chocolate is poured directly into the freezer as the ice cream churns, creating the thick, irregular chocolate chunks our fans have been obsessed with for generations.
